RICHMOND, VA - Estes Express Lines' focus on making our nation's roads and highways safer was recognized on September 29 by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) at the 2007 Safety and Loss Prevention Management Council conference.
Estes Express Lines received first place in the Industrial Safety Contest for the fewest number of lost workdays due to accidents among all LTL carriers with over 5,000 employees. In the National Truck Safety contest, Estes Express Lines was awarded second place for the lowest accident rate among local drivers for LTL carriers who drive over 100 million miles annually.
In addition, Estes West, the west coast subsidiary of Estes Express Lines, received first place in the Industrial Safety Contest for the fewest number of lost workdays due to accidents among all LTL carriers with between 1,001 and 5,000 employees.
"Estes employees are to be commended for their outstanding performance," said President and CEO Rob Estes. "These awards show that we are serious about protecting both our employees and the motoring public as well as maintaining the safe and efficient, on-time delivery of our customers' freight."
