CMS Consultants' WorldLink product is an enterprise middleware shipping management solution. The 3.8 release extends its rating engine independence and enables RFID capabilities.
Springfield, VA -- CMS Consultants, Inc. released WorldLink version 3.8 today. Significant enhancements to the middleware enterprise shipping solution include certification on ConnectShipT Toolkit, specializing in UPS® and other major carrier compliance.
Other important features are the ability to ship using radio frequency identification tags, as well as, several other miscellaneous enhancements.
"Our customers have eagerly anticipated the addition of ConnectShip Toolkit to our supported rating engines," said Wil Fekeci. "CMS is also on the verge of gaining DHL certification for its rating engine and this will allow WorldLink to support carrier-developed rating engines from all major US carriers."
ConnectShip Toolkit
WorldLink customers gain a new UPS compliance engine through ConnectShip Toolkit. As a subsidiary of UPS®, ConnectShip is ideally positioned to provide timely and expert UPS compliance software. In future WorldLink versions, CMS will also roll out support for many of ConnectShip's other carriers, including US Postal Service, Canadian Post, and CANPAR (another Canadian parcel carrier).
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) module
The RFID module gives WorldLink customers the ability to easily generate shipment-specific RFID tags. Customers have the option to use multiple label printers for RFID and conventional bar-coded shipping labels (as well as to create other human-readable labels). This flexibility allows WorldLink customers to process mixed shipments, of which some may not include the use of RFID tags.
Miscellaneous other WorldLink version 3.8 enhancements:
* Carrier label enhancements -- WorldLink now has the capability to customize carrier labels via server-side scripts. This feature greatly reduces the maintenance required to manage carrier label customizations, especially if a customer substitutes one rating engine for another.
Within the script all the shipping information and results from the shipping process are available to put on the label as well as the ability to connect to outside sources.
* Address verification enhancements for interface to Satori address correction software.
