Clark State Community College was founded in 1962 in Springfield, Ohio. Their main objective is to give post-secondary and technical education in several fields of the American Industry; one of these fields is the truck driver business program. It has several divisions of variable duration and strength. Their courses are available for all the people that want to become truck drivers; the institute offers different schedules to satisfy the needs of their students.
Among the programs that CSCC offers you will find accelerated programs which are designed for people that already have a truck but need training for specific reasons.
The 3 Week Tractor-Trailer Program is for drivers who have a Class A CDL but need to refresh their skills and knowledge; it consists of 136 hours (56 in a classroom and 80 in a truck).
The 4 Week Tractor-Trailer Program is recommended for people with little knowledge in trucks; it takes 176 hours (56 in a classroom and 120 in a truck); you will learn defensive driving, map reading and much more.
The 2 Week Class B Program is special for people who want to get into the trucking industry but do not want to drive a tractor trailer or be away from their home for long periods of time. With this license (B) you can drive any vehicle over 26,000 lbs. (buses, sanitation trucks, cement trucks and others).
Refreshing courses are available for people who need to upgrade their skills to be employed somewhere in the trucking industry.
The 20 Week Tractor-Trailer Program is for newcomers in the tucking industry; it is recommended for students with little or no experience. When you finish the course you will receive CDL training and testing and the DOT certification. Some of the requirements you need to meet to enter CSCC are: pass the DOT physical exam, pass a drug screen test, have a valid driver license and be at least 21 years old.
