Idaho Professional Truck Driving Training provides enough hours of hand on practice while focusing on safe and efficient operating skills. They give one on one instruction and training to pass the written and practical CDL test.
Idaho Truck Training is certified by the State Department of Vocational Education and by the Northwest Association of School and College. They teach all the phases of over the road truck driving with a well skilled professional focus on success.
The CDL "A" training program is a 15 week program (3 week course and 6 week internship) of 40 hours per week. The topics that it teaches are: Accident Reporting, Inspections before a trip, Interstate Systems, Instrumentation, Engine Operation, Fire Safety, Hazardous Materials, Air Brake Systems, Security Prevention, Trouble Shooting, Discussion and Job Planning, Atlas and Map Reading, Operations in Weigh Station, Mountain Driving, Alley Docking, Straight Line, Assistance, Shifting and Double Clutching, Successfully Measured Turns, techniques for City Driving and Skills for Two and Four Lane Driving.
When students graduate from the program they have the possibility to work in the following companies: Doug Andrus Trucking, Trebar Leasing Inc., Gordon Trucking, Dick Simon Trucking Inc., May Trucking Company, Interstate Distribution Company, Sherman Brothers, Arlo G. Lott and Smithway Motor Xpress Inc.
