America?s Driving Force was established on January of 1992 and since that time has been offering quality courses to all the people who want to enter the trucking industry. Their course is based on 180 hours (three weeks) of training, which includes both class sessions and truck driving skills training. The course is also divided in three parts or sessions and each one of them takes one week.
The first session of the program consists of teaching the student the DOT requirements and regulations, as well as equipment management. Students also receive all the basic knowledge about truck driving and safety on the road. The second part has a full hands on focus where the new drivers learn the basic driving skills before they enter the road. Some of theses include: backing up, maneuvering and also shifting. Finally the third section is totally dedicated to driving training, where each student will practice on the streets and highways.
All the instructors of the school are very experienced drivers and they are also certified with additional training from the National Safety Council, the American Trucking Associations and the Georgia Motor Trucking Association. It is very important that you know that the trucking industry is growing fast and that is why there are a lot of opportunities in this business. ADF organizes a job fair every two months, where at least 6 companies participate. This is a great chance to dive in head first.
