Falcon Truck School was founded in 1982 by the Seymour family to provide training to all the people who want to enter the trucking industry. The company has a outstanding reputation in the trucking industry. In fact several companies hire new drivers from this school. The school is located in Vallejo, California and offers daytime class schedules.
To apply to Falcon you need to have a valid Class C drivers license issued in California, or at least be able to obtain one. A valid Class A permit (the Department of Motor Vehicles ?DWV? will ask you the social security card when you apply for this permit), completion of the DOT?s physical examination (physical forms are available at the school?s office or any DMV office), you must be at least 18 years old.and last but not least, your driving record must be clean.
At FTS you will drive several trucks with different transmissions and freight; this because they believe that when you graduate, you do not know what kind of truck you will drive when you get a job with a trucking company. That is why the school has a fleet of Peterbilt cab over engine tractors and also Peterbilt conventional and International cover engines, all of them with different speed transmissions of nine, ten and thirteen speeds. They also have forty and forty two dry vans, double flat beds and a tank vehicle. In the classroom you will learn about various aspects of trucking like: the basics of truck driving, current laws and/or regulations that truck drivers must follow, air brakes, defensive driving, pre trip inspection and more.
