Sage Truck Driving School has been offering services for over fifteen years to thousands of students around the country. It offers unique programs that will help obtain the CDL and prepare expert truck drivers. The teachings are done on a one-on-one basis on the road; no more than one student is allowed in the truck. Sage offers a variety of training programs to satisfy the needs of the students. Some of the programs this school offers are the ones described below.
The Basic Tractor-Trailer Driver course gives students all the basic information and practical skills required to become an entry level over the road truck driver. It is scheduled to give 150 hours of lessons (44 of them driving). This is the most popular program because it is for students with no prior experience or knowledge of truck driving.
The Externship for Tractor Trailer Drivers course consists of 150 hours of classroom, lab and driving instruction presented over five weeks. It is lab and driving experience for 5 weeks at a motor carrier accepted by SAGE. This training program provides the student the opportunity to establish job opportunities with a motor carrier.
Another course is the Comprehensive Tractor Trailer Driver, which is the most complete of all the programs offered by Sage Truck Driving School. It includes a five week employer paid externship program. Coupling and uncoupling, vehicle inspection, sliding fifth wheels and tandems, truck towing and special equipment operations are among the things that students are taught. All the applicants who want to get in this school have to complete the enrollment application, provide a copy of a valid driver?s license and a copy of a physical examination on a DOT form (this is available at the school). The company is also looking for instructors with a CDL class A licensed driver with a good safety record and training experience.
